Planning Travels

From Eastbourne to everywhere

Welcome to one family four backpacks, our first foray into the world of blogging and a means of documenting our family's journey into making our dreams of home educating our boys around the world a reality. We wanted to share our journey with you, from the planning stage right through to the exciting adventures we hope to have.  We hope to share useful tips along the way, and as well as providing highlights we want to be honest about the challenges too! This whole journey is a big step into trust and the unknown, but we are confident that it is the right thing for us to do as a family.  We would love our story to inspire others, and we are aiming to create a network of virtual support with like minded people so if you like what you see then please do comment, like and share!

Friday in the forest

Friday’s are our Forest School days - it’s something we have done since before Cub No.1 turned 2. And we love it, I mean we ALL, really love it.

There’s something truly magical about exploring hidden, natural treasures in our local bluebell wood. Not to mention being lucky enough to see mother nature do her thing and witnessing first hand how that differs from one season to the next. Every one is just happier at our little Bluebell Club. Life seems easier for those two hours, but not only that life feels wonderfully full.

Sarah - the leader, (or the pied piper as we sometimes think she should be named), has a natural knack for making the simplest things seem so fun and full of wonder. And lets be honest, she has the parents hooked by the promise of a hot filter coffee or an earl grey tea when it comes to snack time around the camp fire. That alone, makes the group worth every penny for us!

The quality of learning that takes place in the great outdoors just can’t be matched by any classroom set up - unless of course we are talking about the @greenschoolbali Now that is our kind of school - “imagine this, a school without walls, a campus which ignites the senses and the natural curiosity of children, a place where innovation, creativity and learning flourish, a community, which has come together from all corners of the globe to share new experiences, a place of joy.” YES, YES, YES!!!

The Green School, has of course, made it on to our vision board, having the boys attend there for a semester would be a dream. But it’s not a dream, its now an intention. And as Wayne Dyer once said “Our intention creates our reality.” Here’s hoping…
